2014 Game Technology Conference

Client: Sony Computer Entertainment America

Year: 2014

The Game Technology Conference is put on each year in San Francisco by Sony Computer Entertainment America for internal Playstation studios and development teams. For the past few years, I have helped to develop a visual theme that ties together all of their conference materials, including t-shirts, name badges, PowerPoint decks, signage and digital programs app graphics.

This year, they wanted to create a comic book program with a narrative to get attendees all the conference information. The story followed Steve and Honeybunny, two fictional conference attendees who are pulled into the program itself. Throughout the program, they meet characters and encounter obstacles that who they’re able to help by providing the conference details to.

A large push for this year was also the inclusion of a digital program app that provided detailed scheduling information and a location check-in game. As attendees went to panels and evening events, they could check-in to earn badges and win prizes. I designed custom graphics for nearly 30 in-app badges, from 'Early Riser' (for checking into the first morning panel every day) to 'Top of the World' (for checking in at the conference welcome event on the top floor of the hotel).
