Lifelong friend Ambur Lowenthal and I have collaborated on several creative projects, including our most ambitious: publishing our first children’s book, Shirley’s Cakes, with Schiffer Publishing. Ambur wrote the story of a young girl who hates cake but learns to love it by baking one herself—a story that’s less about baking and more about tolerance and discovering what you’re passionate about.

We worked closely through multiple iterations to refine the story and approve full-book wireframes. I illustrated and designed the entire book, from the cover and slip to all 36 pages, including custom patterns and brushes.
